Why is Pump.fun moving today?
Pump.fun's 3.7% slide comes with no token-specific news, so the move looks like risk being pulled out of the speculative end of the market while Bitcoin sits flat at $84,425 and holds a 10.3% weekly gain. With $152.58M of 24-hour turnover against a $1.79B market cap, PUMP is the kind of high-beta name that gets sold first when sentiment cools, and it is now down 3.0% on the week against Bitcoin's advance.
The clearest sentiment drag is security and regulatory risk. A newly created wallet drained roughly $350 million from hot and cold reserves labeled as Bitget's across multiple chains in under an hour, and New York has sued Polymarket, seeking to block it from operating without a gambling license and to claw back allegedly illegal gains — a case that lands close to consumer-facing speculative crypto venues.
The macro backdrop is also tightening: the US 30-year Treasury yield hit 5.44%, its highest since 2004, pressuring long-duration risk assets broadly.
