Why is Bitcoin Cash moving today?

$341.05+0.6% 24h+45.2% 7d

Bitcoin Cash's 45% weekly gain is almost entirely a CME story. On September 23, CME Group said it will launch regulated Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, and BCH jumped double digits on the news, with U.Today logging moves of up to 63% across the two tokens. Regulated futures listings widen institutional access and are typically read as a signal of exchange-grade liquidity, which is why BCH ran toward $350 while Bitcoin added a comparatively modest 10.3% over the same week.

Today the move is mostly digestion rather than fresh news: BCH is up 0.6% over 24 hours at $338.07 and down 1.2% in the last hour, with $500.52M of volume against a $6.79B market cap. Bitcoin is flat at $84,441.

The wider backdrop is cautious. Decrypt reported roughly $350 million drained from wallets tied to Bitget, the Federal Reserve opened two stablecoin proposals under the GENIUS Act, and the US 30-year Treasury yield hit 5.44%, its highest since 2004 — a risk-asset headwind capping follow-through.
