Why is Uniswap moving today?

$9.22-0.1% 24h+17.8% 7d

UNI's 1.4% dip to $9.16 is a pause after a huge week, not a reversal of the story. The move that matters came on September 23, when CME Group said it will launch regulated Uniswap and Bitcoin Cash futures on October 19 — news that sent UNI up by double digits and left it 19.7% higher over seven days, well ahead of Bitcoin's 10.5%.

The pullback is consistent with profit-taking at resistance after that breakout. Analysts flagged UNI running into sharp resistance following the rally, and Binance's UNI reserves have climbed past 71 million tokens, a build-up that typically signals coins being moved to exchanges for selling. Developer news was supportive but not price-moving: Uniswap's v4 ecosystem passed 500 registered custom hooks.

The wider tape is also cautious. A $350 million exploit drained wallets tied to Bitget, the Fed opened two stablecoin proposals under the GENIUS Act, and the 30-year Treasury yield hit 5.44%, its highest since 2004.
