Lypp Mobile is the simplest way to manage your long distance charges from your BlackBerry, Windows Mobile device or any phone that supports Instant Messaging (IM). Here's how it works:
To create a call from your mobile device using Lypp, you will need Instant Messaging software and an Instant Messaging account with Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN Messenger or AIM. Once you sign up with Lypp, we will supply you with your Lypp Buddy address to add to your IM contact list. The Lypp Buddy in essence is your mobile connection to our network and acts as your very own virtual operator.
Thats it, you are ready to start making calls. Don't forget to take advantage of the Lypp Phonebook to store all your contacts. Just log in to My Lypp using the form at the top of every page on this site.
To create a call, simply send call commands to the Lypp Buddy. For example, if you want to call your friend Erik who is a contact in your Lypp phonebook, send the following IM message to the Lypp Buddy: call 6046297990 or call erik
It's as easy as sending a text message.
Don't have your mobile handy? No Problem. Jump in front of any computer, log into your Instant Messaging account and send the same call commands to the Lypp Buddy. It makes no difference to us where the commands come from - your mobile, your laptop in a coffee shop or your desktop at the office.
Once the Lypp Buddy receives a call command or one of your scheduled call times kick in (created from the web-based account area), the Lypp Buddy calls you first and then connects you with the person you called. If they're not available you can leave voicemail or navigate through IVR menus just as with a regular phone call.
When you make calls with Lypp, not only do you avoid using outbound minutes on your wireless plan, you also get the call quality and reliability of a regular phone call. We don't use your data connection for calls so you won't be hit with high data usage charges.
